OBJECT ONE
A young mother wrestles with reality as a gruesome crime unravels her family.
Starring Rosie Malone.
Shooting took place over five days taking on multiple scenes each day. Extensive pre-production was used to maximise our time on set, including the use of Set-A-light 3D, which was used for lighting plans.
Below I will be sharing some shots and the lighting setup behind it.
Many of the daytime interior shots were challenging because the room was very long relative to the limited distance available for placing fixtures outside the windows. As a result, we had to design lighting plans that compensated for this constraint while accurately replicating the natural falloff of sunlight within the space.
The lighting for the daytime interior was lit using a pair of LED spotlights passing through a diffuser. One of the LEDs had a spotlight attachment while the other just had the normal bowl attachment. This helped us get a longer throw of light into the room whilst maintaining the softness due to the limited space we had to set up the light on set.
A Fresnel light was shot up into the ceiling to raise the ambience in the room a little.
The decision to put the television in place for this shot was to better convey the idea of her being surrounded in the darkness. The light was also moved to increase the wrap to get a better read on her eyes and facial expressions for this scene where it was vital.
